Hi I’m Bridgette and I’m so happy to be invited to teach at Alchemise Studio. I teach Pilates, Barre and Yoga. My fitness carrier started before I left school in a Ballroom Dancing Studio. Whilst I was training for competitions I would help out on classes and yes I have appeared on Come Dancing and I’ve danced at Blackpool. I trained as a hairdresser as my mum insisted I trained for a ‘proper job’. Needless to say, my destiny was to teach so the hairdressing didn’t last long.
Long before the big gyms of now were around, I was teaching ‘Popmobilty’ Aerobics and Legs, Bums and Tums and Callanetics. I had a long career break whilst bringing up my children. My eldest has a profound learning disability and epilepsy which gave me little chance to escape the house for quite a few years. I eventually got a job as a school administrator which fitted around my children and was a job I loved. As my eldest moved into adulthood she also moved into full-time care facilities, although she is home most weekends.
This brought me the freedom to once again do things for me. My first destination was the gym, and of course, this has inevitably led me to instruct once more. There are some incredible education and training within the industry now and I have a reputation as the Training Queen. The body is a fascinating piece of equipment that we need to treat with love and respect. 3 years ago I gave up the day job to pursue my first love full time. I very much look forward to bringing my passion for this beautiful new studio.
